Job Summary of Responsibilities
As an X-Ray Technologist, you’ll be an essential part of our clinical team, using your expertise to perform radiographic procedures that assist in diagnosing and treating patients. Your role will include:
- Preparing exam rooms and equipment, ensuring everything is in place for each patient’s unique needs.
- Verifying patient information and explaining procedures to make them feel comfortable and informed.
- Positioning patients accurately for radiological procedures, adhering to radiation safety guidelines.
- Operating x-ray machine with precision to capture high-quality images.
- Reviewing imaging results for technical accuracy, ensuring the highest standard of care.
- Collaborating with medical professionals and communicating key details that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Thoroughly documenting all patient services within a patient’s chart
- Maintaining equipment, troubleshooting problems as needed, and calling in for repairs when necessary as well as and
- Managing inventory for your area to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) Certification required
- Associates Degree in Radiology or related field (preferred).
- Experience operating x-ray equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with medical charting desired
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
- Working knowledge of computers, fax, copiers and other technology as needed
Compensation: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour

We are centrally located in the South Chicago area. Our campus includes our doctors' offices, examination and treatment suites and X-ray facilities with easy access to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate Trinity Hospital, OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital as well as various MRI, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation services.
We are a "paperless" office. Our comprehensive electronic medical record system allows for maximum efficiency for patient registration, radiology studies, ordering of laboratory tests, generating prescriptions, and facilitating communication among different members of your care team.
Our physicians have been carefully selected for outstanding academic achievement, commitment to their patients, and quality of care. Their subspecialty expertise includes surgical and nonsurgical care of sports injuries, hand and upper extremity issues, foot and ankle problems, and spine injuries. Our areas of surgical expertise include joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, and surgery of the hand and foot.
Our physicians at SCOS are able to perform independent medical examinations and are qualified medical evaluators, agreed medical evaluators, and participate in civil litigation, expert testimony, and medical-legal record review. We are also proficient in dealing with patients and claims administrators for workers' compensation cases.
